I received this book from WaA~ as a gift on the visit in Bangkok. The smell of this book did catch my attention, I can say that it is the Wood Sage & Sea Salt collection from Jo Malone.
Thanks to WaA~ again for this gift because this is one of an eye-opening books that we can find yourself during the dark time. During the time I spent reading this book, I learnt so many life-lesson that is of practical in daily life situation.
I have also learned through the book that:
1. Travel is fantastic
Travel helps you realize that your cultural values are not the only guidelines on how to live because it exposes you to people who have different values but still live a good life. It makes you re-examine your values and create good values.
2. Pick your battles wisely, Invest your energy where it matters
Maturity is what happens when one learns to only give a damn about what’s truly fuck-worthy.
3. Practice self-awareness
Have a simple understanding of your emotions – know what makes you happy or sad, and what discourages or encourages you.
Understand the root causes of your emotions – deeply analyze the main causes of your current feelings and emotions.
Understand your personal values – check how you measure success or people’s self-worth
4. Not every problem has to be a negative thing
Don’t hope for a life without problems. There’s no such thing, instead, hope for a life full of good problems.
5. You’ll die anyway, Embrace it
The only certainty you can have in life although still uncertain to some extent, is that you will die. Being aware of such, it’s the only way to destroy entitlement. By embracing death you’ll understand that your life matters. But not that it matters only, instead you have the power to make it matter the most.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wish to lighten their burdens in life and in pursuit of happiness and positivity. Again, thanks to Waazi for this book #WnK
