One morning in the wood, a few people came across and paid their visit with offerings in hand. Just right in front of me stood the shrine called Oiwa covered by dark ruby wall and surrounded by slender pine trees located in central part of Ibaraki prefecture. Based on the local community, this shrine is quite renowned for its sacred power. Have you ever had a prayer in your young age?
My prayer at the age of 3 is that I wish to be a policeman and be able to catch a thief and be on top of the rank. When I was 6 years old, my prayer is for me to learn better, catch up with my one-of-a-kind friend especially in grade 2. At teen age, my prayer was that I could sit well for the exam at High School and ready to take the entrance exam to the university and the faculties that I want to enroll in. The prayer is always new to me from one year to another and it never ceases to amaze me.
Every year, I wish my beloved people and I be happy. This is not a selfish request as it is more with self-awareness and fulfillment. Although I am not always happy, but at the very least I know what I am praying for and of course the positive outlook in life. The key to get ready for the unforeseen future is acceptance and master the mindset of “It is what it is”.
